What Can You Do To Avoid Writer's Block? - Keep your mind engaged and try not to think too hard about what you're trying to write. The best way to avoid writer's block is not to give it room in your head where it can live and thrive without you noticing. - Take a break if the writer's block becomes really bad. Go do something else for a few minutes before coming back fresh later that day or the next morning. Chances are when you come back from doing something else, you'll have a clearer head and less reoccurring instances of writer's block. - Get out of your head and start writing. I know this sounds simple, but it's the hardest thing you can do to avoid this little monster and its 10+ years of life and loyalty. - Read! Sometimes you just need to get behind a book and forget about your mental problems for a little while. Open up a new book and read something different from what you usually read for inspiration; chances are you'll find something that inspires you as well as help with your writer's block as it deals with the same subject matter as the story in front of you. - Watch a movie. Sometimes it's hard to write when you're in the midst of writer's block because you, your mind, and your emotions are all wrapped up in one place. This is a very similar situation as the one I just described above with reading a book. Open a new tab and watch a new movie or show that you've never seen before or have been wanting to watch for some time now – this will easily take your mind off of what's going wrong with your writing process and allow you to think about different things for a few moments...hopefully long enough before the movie ends so that you can return from your mental vacation from home without too much problem. - Turn on some music or do some other kind of activity that will allow you to put your mind in a place where it doesn't have to think about writer's block while also allowing you to get your mind off of what's going wrong with your writing. - Write about the problem. A lot of people are afraid to write about their problems whether that means writing a new story on their blog or writing a poem/song that deals with the situation that is occurring. This can help you truly open up about what's going on and why you're experiencing writer's block. - Don't focus on it. This is a lot harder than it sounds, but if you find that writer's block is striking at odd times and for odd reasons, then try not to focus on it and just go with the flow. The more you focus on it, the more you're going to think about what's going wrong with your writing and how your mind isn't cooperating with you which will only make things worse. 81eaaddfaf 59
